Vlad the Impaler, with the help of Stephen the Great and Stephen V. Bathory, won the battle against Basarab Laiota and became the ruler of Wallachia for the third time. Vlad was famous for his reputation for excessive cruelty. He was named as “the impaler” because of his practice of impaling his enemies. The novel, Dracula was inspired by his alias and his reputation.
The United States observed its very first Thanksgiving Day following the proclamation of President George Washington.
The first ever film to be released in two-tone technicolor, The Tall of the Sea, debuted on November 26, 1922. Although The Gulf Between was actually the first one to do so, it was not was widely distributed as The Tall of the Sea.
