Gone are the days when school is back in session and children act all excited and giddy about seeing their old classmates and spending more time in their classrooms. Most students resent the fact that they need to wake up early, eat breakfast, dress up and ride to school. However, nobody asked mothers about what they felt when it’s school is back in session.
Earlier this month, Keshia Gardner posted a picture of her celebrating the first day of school while five of her kids looked grumpy in the background. These funny photos went viral after seconds of posting it in social media websites.
Gardner admitted that the pictures that she posted were parts of a family collection that were taken as an annual tradition. Gardner and her kids live in Woodville, Alabama and they just like to have fun as a way of bonding. However, since their pictures went viral, they also enjoyed reading the messages that were sent to them as a family.
Gardner says that she knows how most moms feel when they’re children are going back to school and she wanted to capture the moment. She claims that she loves all of her children and the pictures were just for laughs but a routine helps keep everything organized. In addition, Keshia and her family used the pictures to share with their family and friends as a way of making them laugh and letting them know that everything was alright in the household.
The family was truly surprised that their photos have been shared all over the world and that they are still adjusting to their newly gained popularity.
Gardner’s family is composed of biological and foster children whom she loves and supports by working in the Jackson County Legislative Department. The family lives in a farm along with Andy, her husband, who takes care of the horses and has a small plumbing business.
Because the photos went viral pretty quick, there were some negative reactions from some parents who says that it seemed like Gardner wants to get rid of her children. This was disproved by Gardner by saying that their family finds everything to smile about in life and are naturally humorous.
Apart from the few unhappy readers, many netizens were all about thanking the family for the smiles that they brought them by publishing the pictures. The family hopes that their momentary internet fame can help people who are struggling with their own family problems and help them appreciate their family more.
The photos may have been taken with the intention of being funny, but it also promotes a tight family relationships. Everyone has their own family that they grew up with but not all families have tight bonds. Through this picture, you can see that a small family tradition can go a long way into touching people’s hearts all over the world to inspire to spend more time with their family—and hopefully—take more pictures.
